A cross dock beats a warehouse whenever the freight already has somewhere to be — a scheduled sailing, a waiting consignee, a delivery window. You skip the put-away, the storage charge, and the pick. It is the wrong tool when the freight genuinely needs to wait for demand, and in that case storage is cheaper and safer.

</details>
<details>

How fast can you turn a truck?

For palletized freight arriving on a delivery appointment: under an hour to offload and under an hour to reload. Loose, hand-stacked, or unpalletized cargo takes longer because it has to be handled piece by piece, and we will give you a realistic number when you book rather than a hopeful one.

</details>
<details>

Can you cross-dock same day?

Yes, if we receive the shipment before noon. That gives us the working afternoon to transfer and load out the same day. Anything arriving after noon is worked the following business morning.

</details>
<details>

What are your receiving hours? Do you run after hours or weekends?

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, by appointment. We do not run after-hours, Saturday, or Sunday shifts. Every transfer is worked by our own supervised crew during business hours — which is a deliberate trade: you get accountable handling rather than an unattended yard.

</details>
<details>

Are you a bonded facility?

Yes. We operate as a bonded container freight station (CFS). Cargo that has not yet cleared customs can be received, handled, and deconsolidated under bond at our facility rather than accruing charges at the terminal.

</details>
<details>

Are you C-TPAT certified?

Yes. Express Freight International is a certified participant in C-TPAT, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Customs–Trade Partnership Against Terrorism. If your own compliance program requires that your service providers be C-TPAT participants, we meet that requirement.

</details>
<details>

Are you a Foreign Trade Zone?

No. We are a bonded CFS, not an FTZ. If your program specifically requires Foreign Trade Zone treatment — duty deferral on goods held in the zone, for example — this is not the right facility, and we would rather tell you now than after the container is on the way.

</details>
<details>

Do you handle refrigerated or perishable cargo?

No. Our cross-dock floor is ambient only, and we do not accept perishable or temperature-controlled freight across it. We do arrange refrigerated equipment on the ocean leg for temperature-controlled shipments, but the transfer itself has to happen at a reefer facility.

</details>
<details>

Can you handle machinery, vehicles, or out-of-gauge freight?

Yes. Between eighteen dock doors, a double-wide ramp, a standard dock-door ramp, and ground-level receiving, we can take cargo that will not come off a conventional dock — flatbedded machinery, oversize crates, vehicles. Tell us the dimensions and weight when you book so the right position is open when the truck arrives.

</details>
<details>

Can you receive an ocean container and reload it to LTL trucks?

Yes — that is one of the most common moves across our dock. We devan the container, sort the freight by consignee or destination, and load each portion to the appropriate outbound truck. Because we are a bonded CFS, this can happen before the entry is filed.

</details>
<details>

Do you pick up and deliver, or only handle freight at the dock?

Both. We run five of our own box trucks on pickup and final delivery throughout South Florida, so a cross-dock can include the first or last leg rather than ending at our door. Owned trucks and our own drivers — not a broker’s network.

</details>
<details>

What do you need from me to book a cross-dock?

The inbound details — when it arrives, who is bringing it, how many pieces and whether it is palletized.
