Eighteen doors.
A bonded CFS.
In by noon, out the same day.

Cross-docking moves your freight from one truck to the next without it ever becoming inventory. At our 50,000 sq ft bonded container freight station in Medley, palletized cargo comes off in under an hour and goes back on in under an hour — by appointment, on a working dock, under C-TPAT security.

Receiving Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, by appointment.

The dock

This is the whole argument.

Most cross-dock pages describe a concept. Here is the floor your freight actually lands on — eighteen doors, two ramps, and room to receive at ground level when a trailer will not back in.

Ground-level receiving matters more than most shippers expect. If your cargo will not come off a dock — a flatbed of machinery, an out-of-gauge crate, a container that has to be floor-loaded — we take it on the floor instead of turning the truck away.

Timing

Under an hour off. Under an hour on.

Those are working numbers for palletized freight arriving on a delivery appointment — not a best case we quote and then miss. Loose or hand-stacked cargo takes longer, and we will tell you that when you book rather than after.

Before you arrive

Book a delivery appointment. We stage the outbound trailer or container so the transfer has somewhere to go.

Arrival, before noon

Noon is the cutoff for same-day reload. After that we hold the freight overnight and load first thing.

Under 1 hour

Offload, count, check condition, and note any damage or shortage against your paperwork.

Under 1 hour

Reload to the outbound truck or container, secured and braced for the next leg.

Same day

Freight leaves. It never enters storage, so you pay no storage and it never ages as inventory.

Receiving hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. We do not run after-hours, Saturday, or Sunday shifts — every transfer is worked by our own supervised crew during business hours.

Facility class

A bonded CFS that cross-docks — not a cross-dock that hopes customs cooperates.

Most Miami cross-dock warehouses are exactly that: a building with doors. Ours is a bonded container freight station, which changes what is possible with cargo that has not yet cleared. Freight can sit under bond at our facility instead of accruing demurrage at the terminal, and be deconsolidated before entry is filed.

We are also a C-TPAT certified participant in U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s supply-chain security program — which means the vetting, access control, and container-inspection procedures behind that certification apply to your freight while it is on our floor.

And because customs clearance is something we do in-house rather than hand to a third party, the people moving your cargo across the dock are in the same building as the people filing on it.

C-TPAT CERTIFIED

Customs–Trade Partnership Against Terrorism. Vetted supply-chain security procedures.

BONDED CFS

Container Freight Station. Cargo can be handled and deconsolidated under bond.

NVOCC SINCE 1992

Thirty-four years forwarding out of Miami to Latin America and the Caribbean.

NOT AN FTZ

We are not a Foreign Trade Zone. If your program requires FTZ status, we will say so early.

Cargo

What crosses our dock.

The honest version, including what we turn down — so you are not rerouting a load at 3 PM because nobody mentioned it.

We handle

  • Palletized and boxed general cargo
  • Machinery, equipment and vehicles
  • Out-of-gauge and oversize pieces
  • Floor-loaded containers needing deconsolidation
  • LTL consolidation into a single export container
  • Import container devanning to multiple LTL trucks
  • Air cargo recovered from MIA and transferred
  • Crated and uncrated freight, including repacking to ISPM 15

We do not handle

  • Perishable cargo
  • Refrigerated or temperature-controlled freight

Our dock is not a reefer facility and we will not pretend otherwise. For refrigerated ocean moves we arrange reefer equipment on the ocean leg — see the container equipment guide — but the cross-dock floor itself is ambient only.

Use cases

Four reasons freight ends up on our dock.

Importers

A container lands and has to become four LTL deliveries. We devan, sort by consignee, and put each piece on the right truck instead of paying to store it first.

Exporters

Six suppliers, six trucks, one container to Latin America. We receive each delivery, consolidate, and load out — with the ocean booking handled in the same building.

3PLs and brokers

You need a Miami dock you can hand a load to without owning one. Appointment-based, supervised, C-TPAT, and you get told what actually happened to the freight.

Carriers

A driver needs to drop and turn. Book the appointment and a door is open when you get here — no sitting in a yard waiting to be worked. Our own trucks cover the South Florida leg if the onward move needs local delivery.

Ubicación

In the Medley freight corridor, where the cargo already is.

We are at 7950 NW 77th Street in Medley — a Miami cross dock inside the industrial belt that serves Miami International Airport and the seaports, not out on the edge of the county. Drayage in from PortMiami or Port Everglades, recovery from MIA, or a domestic linehaul dropping in Miami-Dade all reach the dock without a long deadhead.

We run five of our own box trucks on final delivery across South Florida, so a cross-dock does not have to end at our door and the last leg does not get handed to a stranger. See trucking and ground transportation for that leg, or warehousing and storage if the freight does need to sit for a while after all.

Also handled here

Ocean freight, LCL and FCL — consolidation straight into your booking.

Carga aérea — build-up and recovery for MIA.

Despacho de aduanas — filed in-house, same building.

Dangerous goods consulting — before it becomes a problem at the dock.

Questions

Cross-docking, answered plainly.

What is cross-docking, and when does it beat warehousing?

Cross-docking transfers freight directly from an inbound truck or container to an outbound one, with little or no storage in between. A cross dock beats a warehouse whenever the freight already has somewhere to be — a scheduled sailing, a waiting consignee, a delivery window. You skip the put-away, the storage charge, and the pick. It is the wrong tool when the freight genuinely needs to wait for demand, and in that case storage is cheaper and safer.

How fast can you turn a truck?

For palletized freight arriving on a delivery appointment: under an hour to offload and under an hour to reload. Loose, hand-stacked, or unpalletized cargo takes longer because it has to be handled piece by piece, and we will give you a realistic number when you book rather than a hopeful one.

Can you cross-dock same day?

Yes, if we receive the shipment before noon. That gives us the working afternoon to transfer and load out the same day. Anything arriving after noon is worked the following business morning.

What are your receiving hours? Do you run after hours or weekends?

Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, by appointment. We do not run after-hours, Saturday, or Sunday shifts. Every transfer is worked by our own supervised crew during business hours — which is a deliberate trade: you get accountable handling rather than an unattended yard.

Are you a bonded facility?

Yes. We operate as a bonded container freight station (CFS). Cargo that has not yet cleared customs can be received, handled, and deconsolidated under bond at our facility rather than accruing charges at the terminal.

Are you C-TPAT certified?

Yes. Express Freight International is a certified participant in C-TPAT, U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s Customs–Trade Partnership Against Terrorism. If your own compliance program requires that your service providers be C-TPAT participants, we meet that requirement.

Are you a Foreign Trade Zone?

No. We are a bonded CFS, not an FTZ. If your program specifically requires Foreign Trade Zone treatment — duty deferral on goods held in the zone, for example — this is not the right facility, and we would rather tell you now than after the container is on the way.

Do you handle refrigerated or perishable cargo?

No. Our cross-dock floor is ambient only, and we do not accept perishable or temperature-controlled freight across it. We do arrange refrigerated equipment on the ocean leg for temperature-controlled shipments, but the transfer itself has to happen at a reefer facility.

Can you handle machinery, vehicles, or out-of-gauge freight?

Yes. Between eighteen dock doors, a double-wide ramp, a standard dock-door ramp, and ground-level receiving, we can take cargo that will not come off a conventional dock — flatbedded machinery, oversize crates, vehicles. Tell us the dimensions and weight when you book so the right position is open when the truck arrives.

Can you receive an ocean container and reload it to LTL trucks?

Yes — that is one of the most common moves across our dock. We devan the container, sort the freight by consignee or destination, and load each portion to the appropriate outbound truck. Because we are a bonded CFS, this can happen before the entry is filed.

Do you pick up and deliver, or only handle freight at the dock?

Both. We run five of our own box trucks on pickup and final delivery throughout South Florida, so a cross-dock can include the first or last leg rather than ending at our door. Owned trucks and our own drivers — not a broker’s network.

What do you need from me to book a cross-dock?

The inbound details — when it arrives, who is bringing it, how many pieces and whether it is palletized. The outbound plan — where it goes next and on whose truck. Dimensions and weight for anything oversize. Your paperwork: commercial invoice and packing list, plus the bill of lading or airway bill. Call (305) 597-9595 or send it through the quote form and we will confirm the appointment.

Tell us what is arriving and where it needs to go.

We will confirm the appointment, tell you honestly whether it makes the same-day cutoff, and have a door open when the truck gets here.
